OH MY GOSH Callie and Reed made me swoon to the max。 This book was a bit of a departure from SAK's usual longing, get together, break up, get back together plot and Reed was a bit more of an alpha, jealous, possessive jerk than SAK's usual Hs, but it was so perfect and amazing and awesome。 I'm glad she tried something a bit different and honestly I loved the oops baby too (not one of my usual favorites)。 So this was a bit different from her usual but it leaned really heavy into her lyrical writi OH MY GOSH Callie and Reed made me swoon to the max。 This book was a bit of a departure from SAK's usual longing, get together, break up, get back together plot and Reed was a bit more of an alpha, jealous, possessive jerk than SAK's usual Hs, but it was so perfect and amazing and awesome。 I'm glad she tried something a bit different and honestly I loved the oops baby too (not one of my usual favorites)。 So this was a bit different from her usual but it leaned really heavy into her lyrical writing style, I'd say more than past books, but I felt like it worked out really well, it added a certain level of character and uniqueness to the book, I'm not sure if I'd want all of her books to have the exact same style as this one but it was just what A Gorgeous Villain needed。As far as the main character's go, they had amazing chemistry, and watching their growth from the prequel to the end of the book was perfect。 Callie definitely got a bit of a backbone and shook off some of her good girl ways and I loved it, and Reed became an ultimate book boyfriend imo。 I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect for me book。 One of my favorite books of the year。 The only thing I really want to add is that reading the prequel is a must for this book。 。。。more

Reed Roman Jackson is legit the villain of my dreams。 He’s hot, rich and alpha AF。 He’s super protective of his Fae and he’s self punishing to the nth degree。 I loved how he said he didn’t love anything or anyone but you could just tell he had this huge capacity to love if he could only realize it。
Calliope Thorne’s character was so perfectly written and perfect for the heroine to compliment Reed Roman Jackson。 This tiny fiery ballerina with so much spirit and love to give and not a bit of fear when it came to standing up to the big huge men in her life。 Now the first ⅓ of this book is the prequel, The Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy。 Then the rest is two years after the incident that happens in the prequel。 Get ready to see some big time character growing, especially in the last ⅓ of this book。 There is so much in the story that finally explains why our Wild Mustang is the way he is, and why he is unable to love anyone。 Or has he finally found the ones he loves more than anything? I’m obsessed with the level of alpha/possessiveness。 It’s fanning yourself over and over, sweating and jaw dropping kinda hot。 I Love it so much!

Their intentionality to their stylistic choices marks them in your mind with each of their stories。 For me, one of those authors is Saffron A。 Kent。 And here’s the thing。。。I don’t think many of her readers get that about her。 What do they see?*An author who writes indulgent New Adult romance。 What that means is there is angst and dirty $ex in abundance in her stories。 *A hero and heroine who inspire the type of feelings you love from New Adult romance: some pettiness, some unfiltered feelings, some insecurity。 All of these seem like tenants of NA romance, and she infuses these easily into her stories。 *Stories that seem enchanting。 They might not deviate too far from the traditional NA romances - usually, it’s forbidden for any of the many tropes available。 But SAK’s readers love the almost taboo nature of her stories。 But what do I see and adore? What keeps me coming back for more? What makes me ravenous for her stories?*There is an intentionality in her style that I don’t think people get。 She uses these simple sentences to bring a cadence to her stories。 That cadence tends to mimic a “stream of consciousness” feel in her storytelling。 It suggests unbridled access to the thinking and feelings of her characters。 It’s become a convention of Saffron A。 Kent’s stories, and her newest story, A Gorgeous Villain, does this brilliantly。 *Her limited point of view drives anticipation。 SAK loves to hide her heroes from her readers。 She gives us small portions of them until they are revealed in full force。 This creates a rabid devotion to them because you get so little of them or you earn them through the perspectives of her heroines that you find yourself wondering what they really feel。 How can they really make that inciting comment to her heroine? In A Gorgeous Villain, SAK doles out Reed aka “Roman” in small doses。 She also did this with the first book of the series, My Darling Arrow。 You gorge on the story to get to the POVs of the hero because you need some reconciliation, some meaning behind Reed’s actions。 The intentionality of this choice makes you binge-read a story such as A Gorgeous Villain。 *SAK has a type。 When I was working on my master’s thesis, I envisioned a new hero for modern literature specific to gender。 Like me, Saffron A。 Kent creates the same heroic type in her stories: broken, misunderstood, possessive, and physically gorgeous。 If you look at her reviews, and you review the negative ones, you’ll find people who complain about the repetition of this。 But again, it’s intentional for her。 It’s a precept of her romance。 If they read close enough, they will find the differences。 With Arrow, we are treated to the devastation of perfection。 And with Reed, we recognize familial abuse and its devastation on Reed’s developing character。 Her readers who adore her recognize this in her heroes, and we fall deeply in love with them。 My heart hurt for Callie and Reed equally。 Most specifically, Reed has grown up in a world where love doesn’t exist without him doling it out in actions。 To love without being loved stunts a person。 Only the action being loved can save them。 *Her heroines are matched for her heroes。 They deliver them from themselves, sometimes to their own detriment。 Callie is selfless in her love and adoration of Reed。 This creates an emotional journey that tips back and forth as the story progresses。 SAK puts her readers through the paces with this story because it wouldn’t be a SAK story without the emotional ups and downs of it。 Again, some would call it repetitive, but it feels necessary as the journey is drawn。 Reed has spent so much of his life living in fear of his father that it feels natural for him to resist growing into love。 Thankfully, Saffron A。 Kent allows us to take the journey with Callie and Reed。 It took me a couple of days to write this review because there are so many words I have for A Gorgeous Villain: angsty, ebullient, dirty, ephemeral, and sweet。 Each turn of the page culls more and more feelings from you。 I found myself holding my breath, tearing up, and wanting to throw my Kindle at the wall through Callie and Reed’s journey。 But。。。that’s what I love, and once again, Saffron A。 Kent has shown me why I adore her stories。 。。。more

Yeah。 Does he redeem himself? Hell yeah。 So, to finish off - as I said, I really enjoyed Saffron’s writing style, but what I disliked were some of the repetitive expressions – wolf eyes or fairy hole (say what?); and I think that because of all the hype and positive reviews I had my expectations set very high and therefore, I was a little disappointed。 。。。more

I had a feeling that I was about to become fully obsessed with Reed and Callie once I got their complete story and I was so right。 They’re without a doubt my new favorite Saffron A。 Kent couple and I definitely am not going to count out any future ones that she’s going to write in the future, but oh I have been dying to read A Gorgeous Villain ever since I read A Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy, so to say I dove into it as soon as I could after it showed up on my kindle is an understatement! I had a feeling that I was about to become fully obsessed with Reed and Callie once I got their complete story and I was so right。 They’re without a doubt my new favorite Saffron A。 Kent couple and I definitely am not going to count out any future ones that she’s going to write in the future, but oh man, it’s going to be extremely hard for another pair to take their place, though even if that does come to pass, they’ll always be one of my top favorites。 In addition to Reed and Callie being my favorite, A Gorgeous Villain is without a doubt her best book — it was absolutely phenomenal! Ok, so I love Callie, she’s brave, beautiful inside and out, and so strong — I love, love, love her, but OMG — Reed Roman Jackson owns my heart and soul and oh, he stole the show! That man broke my heart and made it ache for a multiple reasons from how he broke Callie’s heart along with his own, for everything he’s been through and all the things he tries to take on to just how utterly protective he is of Callie and their baby。 Reed melted my heart and stole it, I honestly can’t tell you how much I love him because I loved him so much, he’s for sure one of my top favorite heroes of all-time! A Gorgeous Villain was breathtaking, beautiful, and captivating。 Reed and Callie have one of those kinds of epic love stories where you know that they’re inevitable and timeless and just get inside your soul。 I was enthralled and touched by their tale that no part of me was unaffected reading this book。 If I could have read it straight through with no stopping I would have, but I am glad that I did have breaks so I could savor being with Reed and Callie longer。 A Gorgeous Villain was incredible and it will definitely be one of favorite reads when I look back on the reading year — I wholeheartedly love, love, LOVED it! ~Sonja, 6 Stars 。。。more
Alicia,
4。5 stars for this star crossed lovers romance。 Reed and Callie are so young when they meet, so it's easy to put her attraction to him down to a young woman's crush。 However, Callie knows that Reed, with his beautiful eyes and aloof manner, is hers。 Reed is complex and convinced he is incapable of loving anyone, so much so that his world is a dark place! Poor Callie! Her incarceration is an awful thing, but her wonderful friends at St Mary's are probably going to be friends for life!I really lov 4。5 stars for this star crossed lovers romance。 Reed and Callie are so young when they meet, so it's easy to put her attraction to him down to a young woman's crush。 However, Callie knows that Reed, with his beautiful eyes and aloof manner, is hers。 Reed is complex and convinced he is incapable of loving anyone, so much so that his world is a dark place! It's gorgeous。 But I did want to see to see Reed's dad destroyed 😇💖💖💖💖💖 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 As much as i loved Salem and Arrow’s book, this one was too immature。 I liked some parts like the ones where Calliope stood for herself against Reed, but other than that i have a hate to love relationship with the two。 They did not fail to annoy me but then they were cute and then annoying again, it kept going back and forth like this。 The first 21% i can proudly say that i survived cuz it was a shit show, if Salem’s desperation for Arrow was 100 then Calliope’s obsession + desperation for Reed As much as i loved Salem and Arrow’s book, this one was too immature。 I liked some parts like the ones where Calliope stood for herself against Reed, but other than that i have a hate to love relationship with the two。 They did not fail to annoy me but then they were cute and then annoying again, it kept going back and forth like this。 The first 21% i can proudly say that i survived cuz it was a shit show, if Salem’s desperation for Arrow was 100 then Calliope’s obsession + desperation for Reed wad 10x more than that which was pathetic。 She was naive af and really immature, Reed was kinda annoying as well but his development throughout the book was amazing to read, he was scared of love but fell for Calliope。 Without realising his love for her he always protected her anyway。 i liked how Calliope tried to hurt him as well later on after when they meet again。 Reed also asked for forgiveness and did everything, he was guilty for hurting her which was a + point since not many heros in books regret hurting the heroines but Reed here was truly sorry。 After 60% skipped some pages cuz it was getting boring, kinda repetitive, especially the dialogues。 The nickname Reed gave Calliope was cringe af “fairy” “fae” and not to mention the infamous nickname for her vagina “fairy pussy” i swear these guys see vagina’s as mystical things, first “pouty pussy” and now “fairy pussy” idk what will Conrad name Wyn’s one。。maybe “colorful pussy” 🙄 since art and all。 Anyway, this book was okayish, didnt like as much as My darling Arrow but eh。 。。。more

✰ No Rating。this review will be chaotic, a little all over the place and not like the regular ones i write。 it might not even make sense。 so here we go。at first, i was hesitant reading this book。 i had this gut feeling that i might not end up liking it after reading the prequel。。。 and when i tell you my gut is always right, i mean it。 but, then, i thought to myself, “cmon, hala。 you’re overreacting。 it’s SAK。 she wrote dreams of 18 which is one of your all time favorite books。”so i decided to ge ✰ No Rating。this review will be chaotic, a little all over the place and not like the regular ones i write。 it might not even make sense。 so here we go。at first, i was hesitant reading this book。 i had this gut feeling that i might not end up liking it after reading the prequel。。。 and when i tell you my gut is always right, i mean it。 but, then, i thought to myself, “cmon, hala。 you’re overreacting。 it’s SAK。 she wrote dreams of 18 which is one of your all time favorite books。”so i decided to get over myself and read AGV。 and now that i’ve done that; i feel torn, conflicted, and kinda disappointed。 i don’t review books i don’t like usually, because,1) i know other people feel strong about their opinion and they might’ve loved the book so i don’t wanna ruin their fun。 would i be a weirdo if i think that? eeh, well。2) it’s SAK this time, and i really like this author。 her books always tick all the boxes for me。 however, it wasn’t the case here and i need to vent, you know? get things out。 so i’m gonna write a review。➳ t h o u g h t s: where did it go wrong, you might be wondering。 it didn’t start from the beginning。 nope。 when i opened the first page, i shut down my mind, blurring every assumption, any sense of doubt i had and went in。it’s the little things here and there, you pick on them but then you make the choice to overlook them so that they go unnoticed because you want to try as much as you can to enjoy the book。 but, later on, newer things (dialogues) join the mix and then it gets out of hand, so you surrender to the fact that that book might not be for you and just stop trying。I couldn’t connect with the main characters at all, as much as i wanted to, i couldn't。and i don’t want to address the elephant in the room aka the smut in here because i’d rather ignore it。 whenever a scene came up i used my pillow as a shield and it worked out fine, after freaking out a couple of times of course。。。 i was like 'should i skip?' 'should i just read them and block them from my memory later?'but whatever works for them。。。 you know。。。 so, umm, yeah。。。 moving on!➳ w h a t i l i k e d: i hate to admit it but i skimmed through the book near the end。 i slowly started growing bored but i stuck around just to read more scenes of callie with poe, salem and wyn。 the one thing i absolutely loved here was the scenes that included the girls and them bantering。 💫t h e i r d y n a m i c。💫 they literally can hold a storyline all four of them on their own in one book and i’d happily read it。now, 𝑷𝒐𝒆 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝑩𝒍𝒚𝒕𝒐𝒏, this girl。 i’m dibsing。 i’m here fangirling over her and i just can’t wait for her book。 yes, i’m that obsessed。 i have a feeling it might end up being my favorite out of the series, because the tropes are just *chef’s kiss*。 and i’m already in love with mr。 tweed coat with elbow patches。。。last but not least, the snippet from these thorn kisses made me so happy! it felt like saffron is going back to her roots。。。 do you see where i’m going with this?here: 〝It doesn’t matter that my dream man, who also happens to be Callie’s oldest brother and our soccer coach at St。 Mary’s, doesn’t want me。 Because I want him。 I want Conrad Thorne。 I love Conrad Thorne。 I love him even though he loves someone else…〞unrequited love? i’m there! i’m just gonna go imagine that i have wyn’s book in my hands and waiting to get to the end so that i meet poe’s love interest。 dude, i wanna know his name! does anybody know? 🙇🏻♀️enough of my rambling now, au revoir! 👋🏼 。。。more
Briana Briggs,
Have I mentioned that I'm not a big fan of the "tortured bad boy who's never good enough for the good girl" trope? I think I have。。。 This book was a little frustrating because of that, but I will say, it was well done, regardless of my opinions on that subject。 Reed is the quintessential bad boy, mean and nasty because he doesn't believe he deserves love, let alone even know what love is, because his dad is the ultimate asshole。 Callie is the perfect princess, sister to Reed's rival, and therefo Have I mentioned that I'm not a big fan of the "tortured bad boy who's never good enough for the good girl" trope? A solid book, entertaining all the way through, if you like the bad boy trope, you will love it!!! I received a complimentary copy of this book to review, the thoughts above are my own honest ruminations。 。。。more

UGH!!! I wasn't even sure that I'll love him after what he did in the novella BUT YES I DID。 He's not even a villain, he's the opposite and the way he always try to protect the people he love is everything。 It's amazing how they're both so different yet they complete each other。 The pregnancy part is so cute。 The way Reed took care of Callie during her pregnancy!!! Yeah I wasn't ready for that。。。 But my favorite scenes in the book is definitely their scenes with their baby。I loved Callie's bond with her brothers especially with Conrad and I loved her scenes with Salem, Wyn & Poe。 The rebels' scenes are always the funniest and I really can't wait for Wyn's book。 Her scenes with that *someone*!!! UGH I can't stop thinking about her scenes with HIM and I already ship them so hard。 。。。more

DNF ! I have a huge problem with the dialogue (or lack of) of this book。 The amount of internal monologue, repetition and absolute pointless questions is beyond me。 Basically the book went like this: Callie: I’m pregnantReed: you’re pregnant? Callie: yeah vampire skin Reed: Ok Callie: I’m reading a book Reed: you’re reading a book Callie: yeah a pregnancy book Reed; you’re reading a pregnancy book WHAT the actually Ffffffff is going on through this DNF !
